Constance Balfour was my Grandmother Mae Donaldson Aiken Hager's best friend. Although they both lived in Los Angeles, they met in London, England in 1911. Although she was not a blood relative, my brother and sisters and I called her Aunt Connie. During my childhood in the 1950s and 60s she was married to Albert Hitchen, and they lived in Los Osos, CA. I remember her daughter Yvonne. She was married to a man we called Bucky. I don't remember their last name. We all got together many times at my Grandmother's home in Eagle Rock, CA. I have many old books that belonged to Connie and a Henry Balfour. My family still has a beautiful library table that belonged to Aunt Connie that she purchased in Paris in the early 1900s. My Grandmother bought the library table from her in 1947. I can't help you with the Gaudet connection, but I ran across your post when I googled Constance Balfour.
