Hi Mike,
Thank you for the information. As the French births in my family were 1846/47 and 1848/49, it is possible that the parents were there only in those years. Although the father's whereabouts isn't certain in 1841, the mother, then aged 16, was still living with her parents in Kent.
Do you know when the English Factory closed?
