Surnames: Letulle, Rossignol, Baudu, Leroy, Braud
Louis Laurent François Letulle was born 12 Sep 1752 in Villers-Bôcage, Département du Calvados, Région de la Basse-Normandie, France. He died 5 Oct 1835 in Honfleur, Département du Calvados, Région de la Basse-Normandie, France.
He married 31 Aug 1778 at l'Église Catholique de Saint-Pierre; Caen, Département du Calvados, Région de la Basse-Normandie, France to Marie Jeanne Rossignol.
Marie Jeanne Rossignol was born 9 May 1756 at Bretteville-le-Rabet, Département du Calvados, Région de la Basse-Normandie, France and died 7 Oct 1829 in Honfleur, Département du Calvados, Région de la Basse-Normandie, France.
They had at least 9 children, these are some descendants that came to America:
1) son Jean Baptiste Victor Louis Letulle born 14 Jul 1783 in Caen -- died in Guyandotte, Cabell County, WV (Huntington, WV) Some descendants migrated to Texas.
2) (my ancestor) another son Pierre Désiré Letulle born 9 May 1798 in Honfleur died 9 Jul 1866 in Union, St. James Parish, Louisiana. He came with his wife Amélie Baudu and 3 small children: Célèste, Emile & Céline. Amélie died during the voyage to Louisiana. The 3 children married and have numerous descendants.
3) daughter Marie Louise Letulle born 15 Oct 1789 in Honfleur (not sure if she came to Louisiana). She had one known son (fils naturel) Louis Isidore Letulle who was born 22 Nov 1811 in Honfleur and died 4 Sep 1871 in Union, Louisiana. He married twice and had a total of 17 children, numerous descendants, some migrated to Texas.
4) another daughter Marie Sophie Blanche Letulle born 6 May 1793 in Honfleur and died 8 Oct 1855 in Honfleur. She married Jean Martin Prosper Leroy. They had 8 children, one son Ernest Alcide Leroy came to Louisiana also and settled at Donaldsonville where he married Virginie Anastasie Braud and had 8 children.
