i am a descendant of Etienne Hebert, who was one of the two Hebert brothers who came from France to Canada, and my descendant was Jean Baptiste Mathurin Hebert, whose widow was Claire Robicheaux, and his children came to St. Martinville, Louisiana after they were expelled from Canada by the British and I descend from a son of Jean Baptiste Mathurin hebert, who was named for his father and he married Catherine Dore' in St. Martinville, Louisiana, United STates of america. I think that the Hebert name is of German origin and the family of Hebert came to France via one of the wars when the French claimed German land or Germany ceded land to France. I know that there was a FRench pharmacist who was at the court of Catherine de' Medici whose surname was Hebert and he was married to Jacqueline Pajot and his son, Louis Hebert, also went to Canada.
