We come from Joseph, the 8th child born 3-17-1731 (therefore not in Jette) who married Marie Anne Lemelin in Detroit April 22, 1754. During the 1800s the surname became Lafayette, an American attempt to spell the French dit name of Lafeuillade. The Javillon dropped out of use with Joseph's son, Pierre. Most of these descendants still live in the Detroit area, some in Saginaw. In modern times, of course, others have spread all over the country. Your Quesnel descendants of Marie Angelique are very well documented. I wish we could hear from any modern-day descendants of Louis, child #1, and Felicite, child #7. The other four died in childhood. My Lafeuillade Lafayette gedcom is on rootsweb which I invite you to visit. Also I wish you the best of luck in your search in Salt Lake City.
