Arbojenn.....I'm sorry I never responded. I don't recall seeing your question. When you sent the last message we were just starting on our 25 day trip to Europe, including the Moselle villages.
In 1856 my gr-gr-grandparents(with 6 kids) came to Iowa. According to a later obituary, they stopped in Jackson Co, just south of Dubuque. They had relatives and friend there. But they moved on to Dallas Co, just west of DesMoines. After 6 yrs, my gr-grandfather(Nick Feller) returned to France. It was less than a year ago that I figured out that his bride(Lena Forret) was his 2nd cousin from Luxembourg. Her parents followed to Iowa the next year(1863).
There are lots of Forret(8 brothers) descendants in central Iowa. Not so many Fellers. There were only 3 brothers, and my gr-grandpa moved his family to eastern SD in 1883.
