Thank you for this, just seeing it now, sorry....yes he was a sneaky bugger, but Isle of Pines is where he was born and 1899 is correct, he put his age back so he could serve in WW2 and put his age fwd to serve in WW1 (I think** must ask mum again) EDNA BROWN nee Clausen was my nana and Henri my pop on my mother's side....

This is why he's been so hard to find and the last of the mysteries in my family...as he never talked about his past and he was always stretching the truth to suit himself...not the nicest of characters according to my mother but still her father and my grandfather nonetheless....family research has a way of bringing all those old skeletons out of the cupboard.....historical detectives we are - thank you again.....i'm so outa touch with ancestry.com..if i want the records how do i go about it?
