Moses (Moise) Damase Peladeau b. unknown d. bet 1910-1920 in Cass Co., ND. married Mary Ann Landers from the British Isles.
Moses, from verbal history, is descended from a French soldier named Peladeau, dates unknown, sent to Canada and then sent for his wife and 4 children. His wife died shortly after arrival and this Peladeau then married an Indian woman, said to be Blackfoot of the Sioux Nation. This marriage was not accepted by Catholic churches and records lost until Moses Peladeau.
Moses and Mary Ann Peladeau had only one child I could locate, Marie-Elizabeth Prudence Peladear b. March 1856 in La Prairie, PQ who married 10-15-1873 at Riviere-Ouelle, PQ to Louis-Marie Jalbert b. 11-1-1842 at Portland, ME.
Louis-Marie Jalbert's ancestry dates back to Jean Gerbert b. 1607 at Nantes, Bretagne, France. The name Gerbert used until the late 1700's when it was changed to Jalbert.
I am looking for any information on the Peladeau line to add to my genealogy. Any help or leads appreciated.
