I am searching for my family roots and if anyone can help me establish where any of the names may have settled,it would be appreciated. To date the only information I have is that Jean Joseph Jessaume and Marie Anne Fournier, both possibly from the Soane et Loire region of France, were the founders of all the following branches of the family in Cape Breton and Newfoundland.Jean was born in 1744,Marie in 1754,were married in 1775 and to my knowledge to date, had eleven children,7 sons and the rest daughters.
Those born in France were;-Joseph Marie Bn 1785.married Marie `Anne' Marche (brother to Vincent Francis who married Sophie)died Main Gut Bay NF in 1861. Jean Baptiste Bn 1781 married a Mary Rigby. Jean Bn 1778.Cathrine Bn 1778 married a Jacques LeJune(an Acadian),Francios Bn 1776 married a Louis L'Allamand.
Those born in Petite Bras D'Or;-Louis Bn 1792 married a Marie Boutillier. Andrew Bn 1793. Alexis(Alexander) Bn 1794 married a Felicia Tutty. Euphrosine Bn 1799 married a Pierre Lorieaux who died in May of 1852. Marie Bn 1798 married a George Medore(Madore).
Sophie Adelaide was born in St Pierre in 1787 married a Vincent Francois Marche Bn 1788.
Those who Moved to NF with their families were;-Cathrine,Joseph,Sophie and Marie.
My search is to find the time if the settlemant of the Family Jessaume(english translated it as Jessome) and the link between my Great Great Grandfather Joseph(Jesso) and his father who was probably the son of one of Jean Josephs sons.
I am also trying to establish the family link between Jean Joseph and his father in France, the Jessaume name does not appear to be very prolific, and is difficult to trace on the French Web,(any help??)
I also have a problem in so much that my Grt Grt Grandfather moved to Boston at some stage because his daughter,Cathrine, was born in that area in 1892,his other children,Leo Francis Bn 1897 died 1920 in NF (my fathers father),Edward and Angelina (possibly more) places of birth are a mystery.(anyone have any clues??)
Any help would be a great boost in completing my family tree.
