Nicholas Morticelli Pagliara was born in Sulmona Province of LAquila Italy on Apr. 16, 1896. His parents were Domenico Pagliara b. 1860 and Anna (Morticelli) Pagliara b. about 1867.

Domenico came to US about 1899; Anna and son Nicholas followed in 1902-3. They settled in Murray Co., NY USA. area. Domenico died there in 1908, supposedly working on the canal.
