Hello there, my name is Jenna and I'm trying to find members of my father's side of the family. I was always told stories of the "brothers" who came over from Italy, and while my dad has tried to find information over the years, he's always ended up coming up short.
The three that I found (my great grandfather, Alfonso, and his younger brothers Antonio and Angelo) came over in 1909, originally from Montecreto, Modena, Italy. In the records, Alfonso's name changes to Bartolotti, possibly during the second time he came over. We believe that he left and later married out of country to my great grandma, Josephine Bartolotti, maiden name Denicolo. If I'm reading the records right, they came back over in 1915. Both times they passed through Ellis Island.
Alfonso and Josephine ended up settling in Michigan. I don't have a date of death for Alfonso, but Josephine passed in 1967. I'm not sure how many children they had, but one of them was my grandpa, Laurence.
I'm not sure if anyone would have any kind of information on family members. As I understand it, Bortolotti is a somewhat more popular surname in Italy. But if you happen to have any extra information, please contact me via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you very much.
