Farini d'Olmo - Elionfante?

Classification: Query
Surnames: Elionfante
My great-grandfather's name was Eliodoro/Theodore Elionfante.

However, I've never heard of anyone else (who wasn't directly descended from Eliodoro) who has the last name Elionfante, which makes me wonder if this was one of those cases where the name got mixed up during immigration.

So that leaves me with a few questions:

1. Does anyone have any information on anyone else named Elionfante, especially from Farini d'Olmo?

2. If it is indeed true that the name got mixed up during immigration, is there any other way to figure this out? I have his exact birthdate (14 Apr 1882) and full name, immigration date, naturalization date, but that's about it.
Any advice for a next step would be appreciated.
