hello. I,too,am trying to learn more about Donofrios. My grandfather,Giuseppe Donofrio married my grandmother,Michelina Moccia in Italy. One or both of them came from what is now Molise but until 1963 was Abruzzi.Today it would be Bagnoli del Trigno,Isernia,Molise,Italy. To locate, the Trigno river flows east-northeast into the Adriatic near the 'heel' of Italy. if you would follow a line north of Naples and east of Rome the intersection would be near where the Trigno river intersects with another river just east of the cetral mountain range(the Appenine) I believe. Just south of that junction is the town. I think it would be within or near the edge of a triangle formed by lines from Isernia,to Agnone,to Campobasso and back.In the phonebook there are currently 28 Donofrio's. i think they came through Ellis Island around 1915 and settled in Clarksburg West Va.This is the extent of my knowledge. I hope it helps.Sincerely.
