I've been researching my father-in-law, Tony Dori's family, and there may be a connection to your family from Fano.
Tony's grandfather Adolfo Dori and Adolfo's brother, Gaetano Dori, immigrated from Fano to settle in Rhode Island. A death record for Gaetano lists his father as Angelo Dori and his mother as Margherita, presumably both from Fano. There the trail for me has gone cold.
As you noted in one of your posts, there are no LDS copies of vital records from Fano on line, so one must apparently go to Fano to request them. I noted with interest that you've spent considerable time in Fano working on your family's history, and that one of your family members, Tomasso Dori, appears to have been a contemporary of the Angelo Dori.
Adolfo Dori was born in 1868, and Gaetano was born in 1872, so their father, Angelo was probably born about 1848 or earlier.
Can you determine from your research if Tomasso Dori was related to Angelo. If not, did you find any references to the Angelo and Margherita Dori family from Fano in your research?
Finally, would it be necessary to go to Fano for further research into the Dori family or could it be done via written or e-mail requests to the local authorities in Fano?
Thanks in advance, Jim Kempf
