Did Gilda Lattanzi have a daughter named Ermilinda Lattanzi who was married to Guaribaldi Rossi?? She is my great grandmother. Ermalinda Rossi left Massa Carrara, Italy for America with her husband and 5 children sometime in the early 1900's.
Please respond if you think you might have more information to the puzzle.

Thanks

Famiglia Angiolini-Pardona, Massa-Carrara

Bongiorno! I am looking for information regarding the family of Massimo Giovanni Angiolini(1877-1933). I believe that he was born in the town of Pardona in Massa-Carrara. He was a cobbler by trade and married Adele Maria Fagiani/Faggiani about 1900. He immigrated to the US in 1904 and settled in Grass Valley, Nevada Co., CA. In 1909, his wife Adele and their son, Tarquinio, joined him in the US. When he died in 1933, he was survived by his daughter Clelia, son Tarquinio and by three brothers who immigrated to South America (possibly Argentina) and by another brother and sister who stayed behind in Italy (Massa-Carrara???). Any information about his parents and lost siblings would be most kindly appreciated! Grazie!

In going through my files, Bagnone is the only place listed on my great-grandfather's birth certificate or marriage record. However, some of the towns I remember hearing about were Castiglione, Mulazzo, and Villafranca.

When they came to the states, they went to Dawson, NM. Also living in that town were brothers Antonio and Michele Stagnari & his family. From Ellis Island records their father was Luigi.

We were fortunate to have been able to have a very short visit to Bagnone a few years ago - just long enough to walk around & have lunch. My brother asked one family if they had heard of the name Giromini, but they hadn't.

I appreciate any help you can pass along. I've been searching for quite a long time. Unfortunately, my great-grandparents were gone & my grandmother wasn't interested in the past when I started my search.

Thanks, Sue

How nice to get a response to this post. I will have to inquire from family in Italy, but it definitely sounds as if there might be a connection. It is a pretty rare name, and Carolina seems to be a family name, as it is also the name of my mother's aunt. (Carolina Stagnari) Stagnari was her mother's maiden name.

Do you know the actual frazione or village that they come from? Bagnone is sort of the largest town and therefore the administrative hub of a group of villages in the Lunigiana.

I, too, am looking for information on the Stagnari family from Bagnone. My 2x great-grandmother was Carolina Stagnari. She married Pietro Giromini @ 1875-80. I don't have any more info on them. However, their son (my great grandfather), Giovanni Giromini, married Eleanora Bertoli. He came to the US in 1909 & his wife & family followed in 1910.
