I have been searching, for some time, for birth records - or ANY records - in the Netherlands for my g-grandfather. He emigrated to the US in 1873, from Beilen, Drenthe. That is all that I know (His name is Hendrikus Oldenhuis - born in 1845, possibly Nov. 26). I have checked GenLias records, and cannot find any birth record for him. I cannot understand why I keep being unable to find anything on him!!!!! While checking GenLias records for him, I was able to find all the records for his wife, her parents, and her siblings. But I can't find him!!!!! Does anyone have any ideas as to anywhere else I could try??? I also know that he was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in the Netherlands? Would that be a way to find him, in church records????? Help!!!!
