A late reply since the first message. The Albert Alberts Vondeling is also in my family line. As far as we do know his father's name is unknown. However there is a story:
His mother, called Elisabeth (maybe Elisabeth Alberts?)had come to Holland on a ship from England around 1800. She lived on the streets of Delfzijl as a beggar. She was found dead one morning with her son, still living, in her arms. They brought the orphant to the church to be raised there. It was said that he was named Albert Alberts (perhaps named after his mother?) He got his surname during the napoleonic era in 1811. Albert Vondeling married Eltje Jonas Aikjes. They had a son Called Jan who married Trijntje Bottinga they immigrated to the USA around 1886. (their son stayed in Holland) Their grandson born in 1900 was my great grandfather.
Greetings,
Jerry Vondeling
