The familyname Hamence is not in the current online phonebook. It is not in the 1947 census. The best online site oon genealogy http://www.genlias.nl/en/page0.jsp does not have any Hamence listed. So I wonder if this really a dutch familyname.

I have seen your request for the family Hamence in Flevoland.
I have seen census forms with Van der Hamence from Holand and as I am researching the Hamence Family, wondered if you have had any success in this area.
I would be very interested to hear from you about this .
Sincerely Pam

I have just started looking for other DeBruyn other than my own. I used to think that there were only a few with the name DeBruyn until my brother made trip to Holland when in the Service. He was then told that it was a very common name there. My father Johnny Thomas DeBruyn was born in Marengo,Iowa in 1925 and married Reva Maurcine Hand born Argyle, Iowa in 1921. My fathers father, John J. DeBruyn was born in Lynnville, Ia. in 1887?? His father, (my great-grandfather) was the first child born in the US of the group that had come to this country from Holland. They came through St Louis,Mo.
John J. DeBruyn married Sceola Edmundson, born in What Cheer, Ia.
I thought if I were to give as much info and names as I have I may even help some others find relatives other than DeBruyns
I hope this helps some and I hope to have it help me find more info on my family also.....Thanks

have since discovered that Poulains emigrated from Wermeveer from France hence no records in Urk

However the Poulains were a family of fisherman and lockmasters (pretty obvious considering they were surrounded by water) So I am now trying that avenue

Cheers

Veel nieuwe namen

Hallo allemaal,

Mijn homepage is weer helemaal bijgewerkt!

http://members1.chello.nl/~jos.onneweer

Met vriendelijke groet,

Jos
