Classification: Query
Surnames: verhoef, de weerd, van den brink, beekman, hop
Around 1871 a group of families moved from Ermelo (Gelderland, the Netherlands) to Michigan, Grand Haven, Holland and probably Laketown. Amoung them the Verhoef family, van de Brink, de Weerd, Hop and Beekman.
My grandmother, born in 1887, kept in touch with one of her cousins (a Verhoef descendant), who's name I don't know (but she had a sister Mary (Maartje) and a sister Jannetje (Jennie?), a doughter Harriet and a son Gerrit) I have photographs from around 1920 in Michigan, and from around 1938, when Harriet and a friend (or relative)Grace visited Ermelo. A couple of years later Harriet married Frank, on Oct 3rd, don't know the year.
If anyone recognizes this story in their family, please contact me, I would love to know who they were.....
