I've hit a dead end trying to track down Dirk Kok. He was born in the Netherlands, possibly in the year 1813. His wife's last name was de Vries, and her first name was either Greetch or Grietjen. They immigrated to the United States in 1848 on a ship called the Kathrine Jackson and settled in the area of Zeeland, Michigan. At the time of the immigration they had 7 children: Trentje (13), Maatje (11), Jantje (10), Jan (7), Gerrit (6), Grietje (4), and Dirk (2).

I have been unable to find any information on Dirk and Grietjen before the time of their immigration. There is a possibility that Dirk may have been adopted by Tamme VandenBosch and Grietje Bont (who are alrready relatives in my family tree), but I haven't found any information to confirm this fact.

I'd appreciate any assistance in this area!
