Mannes Egbertus ten Oever emigrated to the USA in 1881, aged 55. He had 4 traveling companions (his children, I assume), without wife (since she died in 1880 that would not have been possible...) He is listed as being married, but in fact he was a widower.
As for the naming of the various Alberts: dad Egbertus died in 1882, only one year after they arrived in the USA. I don't know where the children went, but they most likely were taken in by another family. And the father of that family might have been named Albert. Pity that the 1890 census is mostly gone! There you could have seen where the children had gone...
