Hey there! My name is Tiemen Staal, we appear to be cousins. My grandmother, Alida Buursema, was your grandfather's sister. I've been looking for Fritz' descendents because I now reside in North America myself.
Alida Buursema married Gerhard Staal and they had four children: Tiemen, Diet, Jo and Eelco (my father).
I currently live in Arizona and I understand you're all up in Canada? I'd love to hear some stories about Fritz and his immigration experience. The best source for your family's stories from my side would be my aunts Jo and Diet. But time is precious as they are in their 80's and especially aunt Jo's health is rapidly declining. But they have plenty stories on their mom I'm sure and heard from her about your grandfather and the other siblings. Maybe I can ask them to commit some of this stuff to paper.

On another note, my mom is a major genealogy nut and is building a giant database of which the Buursema's are a major part. When I receive a copy I can forward it on.
