The names you refer to just happen to have a city name in them and it certainly doesn't mean the person hails from Wijck or 's Hertogenbosch. Bosch also means forest (amongst others). Surnames were not just picked and different surnames have different origines. Surnames can come from the place a person hailed from, from the old patronimical system (Jansen = Jan's son), from nicknames, from the profession a person had (Visser = Fisher). In 1811 the surname a person had was officialy registred, but due to a lack of spelling rules you will find different spelling of a surnames within a family even after the registration.
