Re: Pittens, Vesters, Gerrits

I am looking for anyone who may be able to help us find our families. Martin Gerrits emigrated to Canada sometime in the late 1940's to early 1950's. He had several children: William, Gerald, Geraldine, John, Anthony and possibly more. He was married, although his wifes name is unknown to us. This is the only information we have other than he settled in Ontario and stayed there until his death, possibly in the late 1950's.
I am also looking for information on Anthony Vesters who was born in Uden on May 2, 1914. He married Theodora Pittens and had 9 children before emigrating to Canada in the late 1940's or early 1950's. Some of the children were Rica, Marie, Wilhelmina, Theodore, Martin, Hank. They had 11 children total and settled in Ontario. Anthony died in December 1992.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. My daughter has a school project which has sparked a real interest in our family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.
I've gotten stuck and need help finding information on the following people. As far as I know, they lived in or near Neunen, Gerwen, en Nederwetten. Please feel free to reply in Dutch! I can read it very well but can't make a sentence to save my life, so I could use the practice.

Henry Kuijten (Kuiten, Kuyten)- married Petronella Walraven. They had a daughter called Harriet Anna Francis Kuiten. Harriet (my great-great-grandmother) was born in Wisconsin, so I assume Henry and/or Petronella emigrated. I'd like information on their other children, if any; Henry and Petronella's birth and death dates, and their marriage date.

Henry's father Jan Kuijten (b. 1775) and mother Johanna van der Aalst (b. 1789.) I'd like to know if they had children other than Henry, Helena, and Petronella, information on their marriage, and specific birth and death dates.

Petronella's parents Francis (Franciscus?) Walraven and Antonetta Smulders. I have their names, and I know they had Petronella and a son called Willem. I don't have any further information on any of them.

Jan's parents Hendrik Kuijten and Margareta Dekkers. All I have is their names; any information would be wonderful.

Johanna's parents Peter van der Aalst and Sophie de Vries. Again, all I have is their names, and I'd appreciate knowing anything about them.

Thanks!

I am seeking information on a Johannes Steussij who was married to Elisabeth Cornelia Pikaar. Elisabeth was a daughter of Cornelis Pikaar and Josina Verbrugge. I just found their marriage record on the Tilburg archief (rhc.tilburg.nl) along with information about Cornelis Pikaar - specifically his death. I need to find more information about Cornelis - specifically his birth. I'm very familiar with the zeeuwsarchief website, but it doesn't go back far enough for me to find his birthplace and birth. Most likely he was born in Zeeland or North Brabant. Can anyone help. Thank you!
I also found her baptism record - but it looks like the information was gleaned from Elisabeth when she got married. Is this possible? The death notice about Cornelis Pikaar seems to be that kind of thing also.

I'm trying to find out information on a Henry Vanderkolk. Birth name could be Hendrik. He was born in 1815 and have been told in Almkerk, Noord Brabant Netherlands. He married a Maria DeJongh (spelling could be different) she was born in 1825 in the Netherlands. I don't know if they married in the Netherlands or after going to America. I don't know when they went to America I know they had a child Anthony Henry who was born in June 1853 in Illinois USA. I would like any information on Henry or Maria, birth dates/location, if there is a marriage info and if possible parents names. It is rumered that Maria is at least part Jewish.

I have already check Genlias with no luck. so if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Van Loosbroek/Loosbroek

In working on a family history for my daughter's finacee, I have come across the name of Francis (Frank) Loosbrock, which was most likely Van Loosbroek or Loosbroek prior to coming to the US. I have only been able to determin his date of birth, which is 2 Feb 1824. In researching the surname here in the US I have come across a Henry with the same surname. They seemed to have been in the same US areas around the same times - late 1850's to late 1860's. Both werre first in Wisconsin, then Dubuque Co, Iowa. Frank stayed there, and Henry went on to Minnesota. I do not believe they were brothers, but most likely related in some way. I am trying to find more on Frank - where in the Netherlands he was born, and who his parents were.

A World Family Tree gives a John and Anna as the parents of Henry, with John born about 1812 in Berghem. I am hoping this may also be the home of Frank. Frank was living in the United States by 1859, as his first child was born in Wisconsin in that year. Any information or suggestions greatfully appreciated.
Adelia died when my mother, Rose NOOYEN, was 2 years old (in 1903). My mother was then raised by Adelia's sister and her husband, Rose and John JACOBS.

It would be interesting to compare data.
Heilige Geestmeester: meaning??

Our family emigrated to the USA from Norway, but over the past few days I have discovered that one branch, Van Hove, is originally from Mierlo. I have been fascinated to read that during the period 1300-1672 Johannes Van Hove and several of my other forebears held the post known as "Heilige Geestmeester" at the church in Mierlo. Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to find out exactly what this means. I did discover that several forebears of Rembrandt van Rijn held this post at their church. And, in one contemporary document I find a reference to "Heilige Geestmeester (armmeester)" which makes me think that "armmeester" must be the present-day equivalent of this job title. If anyone could shed light on this topic, my cousins and I would be most grateful!
