Looking for anyone with any information concerning DIRCK HOF (b. 1594) & his son PAULUS DIRCKSE HOF (b. 1620 in Hoven(?) or Luttenburg, Overijessel. PAULUS was married in Almelo, Overijessel abt. 1640 to GEERTE WILLEMSE. Family emigrated to New Netherland colony on Manhattan, New York, United States around 1640. Would very much appreciate any leads & have much information on the family line in New York, New Jersey, etc. The name was changed to HUFF in the late 1600s. Thank you very much.

I am searching for traces of my Great Grandfather Daniel Althoff (born around 1860-1870 in Holland). We have many photos of his family, mostly taken in Enschede and one from Voorstadt. Daniel came to England from Holland, we believe as a young man with his father and brother. We have had a large Dutch community here since the 1600's when a Cornelious Vermoyden brought maen over to drain the land in Thorne, East Yorkshire. I know little about him except that he rescued my Grandmother from a workhouse and looked after her, very well until she married. He was the centre of the family. My Grandmothers own Mother left and never returned. Daniel never married.
My Father gave me half of a watch chain, and it was believed that the other half stayed in Holland. I have an old Photo of a gentleman wearing the full chain. I have no idea about my Dutch ancestors. Daniel didn't talk about his past. He died around 1945 in a beautiful lock-keepers cottage on the egde of the moors.
Can anyone help me?
If anyone has ancestors who came to North Lincolnshire/ east Yorkshire I am happy to search anything for them at this end.

Our first known ancestor in New Amsterdam(New York)was known as Jan Gerritsen deVries van Dalsen and possibly went by any of these surnames at a given time. Historical records refer to his father as Gerrit of Workum. Unfortunately there is no birth record or shipping records for Jan but records indicate the time period to be 1640s in New Amsterdam. He was a boat builder in New Amsterdam possibly a trade learnt from his father in Friesland.
Would anyone have any suggestions on furthering research from Friesland in the early 1600s most likely Workum or Dalfsen.

I am looking for my ancestors who I believe lived in Almelo, Overijssel, and immigrated to the US in 1884. As I do not speak or read Dutch (I am slowly starting to pick it up), I am having a difficult time trying to track them down. Any information or advice on how to proceed would appreciate. The following is the information that I have on Frederick and his family:

Frederick Kamp born January 10, 1852 in Netherlands, died December 09, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI. He married Wilhelmina VanWittenberg Abt. 1874. She was born March 15, 1854 in Netherlands, died November 26, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI.
They immigrated to the US with 3 children (Garett, Henry John, and Dena Marie) around 1884.

Frederick’s parents were Gerrit Kamp b October 1824 and died February 1904 and Maria Hoeks

Frederick’s sister, Hendrika Kamp, married A.W.C. Arends and had many children (William, Arnold, Renee, Marie, Gerrit, Anna, Janna, Diederick) who I believe never left the Netherlands

Frederick’s brother (or step-brother) Hendrick D. Kamp married Egberdina Hulsnaus. They immigrated about 1904 to Ohio, USA

Johanna trouwde, in 1786 in Amsterdam met Bouweriks [Bouwerick, Bouwerik, Bourik], Baren(t)d Johannes, nadat zij op vrijdag 14 juli 1786 in Amsterdam in ondertrouw zijn gegaan.

I am searching for a Dirkje Dalhuijsen, born about 1855, probably in Kampen. She has a brother Gerrit and I have found a Gerrit Dalhuijsen, born 4 Sep 1862 in Kampen. I would like to verify that Dirkje is Gerrit's sister-I have not been able to find a birth record for her.

I am also looking for the marriage record of Dirkje Dalhuijsen and Jan Jansma, who may have been born in Appelscha, Friesland, but raised his family with Dirkje in Zwolle. They were probably married in 1878 or 1879, since they started their family of 9 children in 1880.

Ome Jan was Zaakvoerder (Manager)van de ABTB te Denekamp. Een grote hartelijke mens. Omstreeks 1942 werd hij door de Duitsers opgepikt en was gedurende twee maanden te gast in concentratiekamp Vught. Zij woonden op de Brink in Denekamp. Zij hadden een dochtertje, Gesina, overleden op 2-jarige leeftijd, 10 Maart 1923, Denekamp.

Have been researching my paternal grandmother's family via the internet from VIrginia and have conflicting information.
I know that my grandmother, was born in AMbt Almelo as Hendrika Waijerink. Her father were Johannes Waijerink son of Reindert WAijerink and Henrietta Geertuida Hammink.

I have found info that says that Reindert's parents were Jan Herms Waijerink and Willempje Herms (although I can find no dates for these two or there marriage)and his grandparents were DIrk Waijerink and Janne RIgter.
Other sources have provided the infor that DIrk's parents were JAn HArms and Aaltje Hendrikson.
I am hoping that someone can help confirm that this information is correct and possibly supply some info such as dates and background info on this family.

I am sending for some certificates but am unsure as to which I should order since there are several Reindert Waijerink that died within ten years of each other.

I just found this web site, and the name of this province sounds like Overhiser in English. Therefore, maybe their first names maybe different too. He looks to be about 18 and my aunt suggests that the young men at age 18 were required to serve in the military for training for one year. Ik heb een vraag over de familie Kappelhof. Het gaat om Femme (Fenne) Margarethe Kapelhof, die gedoopt is in Oldenzaal vermoedelijk omstreeks 1720. Zij is naar Leiden verhuisd en getrouwd wellicht in Leiden met de Leidenaar Jacobus Verbrugge die in Leiden gedoopt is 28-2-1720.
Van een famile Kapelhof uit Oldezaal is wel het een en ander bekend via het boek de kwartieren van Greidanus Wiemersma. Mogelijk is aansluiting op deze familie mogelijk.

Mijn vraag is weet iemand wanneer deze Femme/Fenne Margarethe Kappelhof gedoopt is en wie haarouders en voorouders zijn. Kwartieren zijn uiteraard erg welkom.

Bernard (Barend) Salomonson moved to England some time before 1846 when he married. His parents were Izaak Salomonson and Hester Hijman JACOBS. His grandparents were Mozes (born abt 1762) Solomonson and Rachael HEIJMANS. They all came from Almelo, Netherlands. I cannot find any mention of the Salomonson family before Mozes and am wondering if he was son of Salomon.

Their son was Jan Willem van Zoeren, born 1892.
