Ouders van Aaltje

Ik ben al lang aan het zoeken naar de ouders van Aaltje van Blokland. Zij was getrouwd op 25 oct 1783 in Achthoven met Elbert Baars. Na het trouwen zijn ze beiden op de boerderij gaan wonen waar Aaltje ik denk op geboren was zo ongeveer in 1757 in Blokland.

Ik heb nou eidelijk ook de huwelijkse voorwaarden gevonden, maar Aaltje was meerderjarig en had geen toestemming nodig, haar ouders staan er niet in maar er staat well iets in over de ouders van de bruid maar mijn Hollands is niet zo goed.

Mijn vraag is er hier uit te halen of de ouders van de bruid toen nog leefden in 1783?

Att. geg. means attestatie gegeven.
It is the permission for the marriage in Amersfoort. There were no objections during 3 weeks against the marriage.

Attestatie betkenet zoiets als dat er kerkelijke bevestiging is gegeven om van gemeente te veranderen (door verhuizing, trouwen, etc.) en naar een andere gemeente te gaan.

Ik meen dat geg. betekent "gegaan" .

Yes, give some more information. Perhaps birthdate of your father or given names of your grandparents or your fathers brithers and sister can be very helpfull.

Any chance you know anything about your grandparents? Perhaps your grandmothers's maiden name? Births 100 years ago, marriages 75 years ago and deaths more than 50 years ago are public information and can be found on Genlias.nl, select for english. There are other good sites some give you actual scans of old baptism and marriage records. To get started though you need to know some information.

my name is Hendrik Rempe. I live in Australia, to which my parents emigrated from Holland in 1953.
Rempe is an unusual surname, but I note one worn by some distinguished academics. I would like to learn more of my ancestery and would welcome communication from anyone with relevant information.
My fathers name was Leendert Hendrik Rempe,born I believe in Looseweyk (not sure of the spelling), but grew up largely in Eindhoven, and moved to Schoonordt, Drente, after marrying my mother Marghje Statman from that province.

This is very kind of you. This information is very usefull for me. I can see that the couple I am interested in (Pieter Hendrik and Johanne Geertruida) had a child from their marriage (in 1938), but this child died before the age of 1 in 1939. I was hoping to find a living daugther from this couple, but I guess this hypothesis is now dead.

Is their a Website where I could visualise at all birth in Utrecht between March and May of 1946? If this doesn't exist, would you know where I could visualise those records?

My Knops ancestry goes back to Utrecht, Netherlands, in the early 1800s. Hendrik Knops (1797-1842) married Maria Broekman (1789-1852) in 1820. Some of their children were Johanna Knops (b. 1823), Hendrik Cornelis Knops, Anthonia Alexandrina Knops, and Maria Hendrica Knops. Descedants were still living in Utrecht as late as the 1920s. Looking to connect with anyone related to this family.

Arnoldus was a gardener and in 1936 (when he died) he was a landlord/pub/café-keeper.
If you want to know more about the places he was born and where they lived ,maybe you can find out more on Google.
Wikipedia will tell you a lot more . I only do not know if Wikipedia is also in english.

Hello. Cromselaar is ook Crompselaar, Crompzelaar, Kromp, Krompselaar, Kromselaar, Ronzelaar etc...

Oetje Mets heb ik alleen gevonden als de moeder van Maria, die met Jan Peterze Steenbeek trouwde en zelf minstens 8 kinderen had.
Onder Jan Steenbeek vind je de kinderen wel, maar haar naam heeft wel zoveel variaties dat het niet helpt.

He married in Hilversum (province of North Holland, Netherlands) on 20 may 1843 with Tijmentje Haan. She was daughter of Gijsbert Haan and Marritje Pos. Gijsbert Grootveld and Tijmentje had only one child when they left the Netherlands in 1846 for the USA. There child was a daughter Trijntje Grootveld born in Hilversum on 17 august 1844.

I'm not sure where the parents of my grandmother (Elisabeth Maria Johanna van Oosterhout) were living, but she was born in Breda on 18th June 1936.

My great grandfather, Nicolaas van Oosterhout, was born 14th March 1894.

I've had trouble searching using the source you gave me because I don't understand dutch (I was born in Australia). But thanks anyway!

This is a bit on an old post so I am not sure if you are still looking. The site for you is definately http://www.genlias.nl I have tried different variations on your first and last names and not had any luck. Now your grandmother got married in 1895, that is pretty far back, perhaps there might be some information available about your parents. What are their names, and when/where did they get married? (if in Holland) What are their birthdates? Finding their records in genlias will confirm the spellings of the first and last names, maiden names. Their parents (your grandparwents) are usually listed with the birth, marriage records.

I tried those sources thanks, Blokland was origionally a "Heerlijkheid" (Manor) it is mostly just farmland 1.5 km south of Montfoort and about 6 km east of Ijselstein, Utrecht.

They got married in the RK church in Montfoort on April 26, 1809.

I found what could very likely be the father and mother of Anthony also in the Marriage - Court, Lindschoten:

Elbert, j.m., won. Achthoven, en Aaltje van
Blokland, j.d., won. Blokland, aanget. 11-
10-1783.

The oldest son of Anthony and Sijgje is Elbert, and often they named the oldest son after the grandfather.

Does anyone know how could find the doopboek of Blockland, or Montfoort so I could make sure, or point me in the right direction?

Lots of van Lottum's on Genlias.nl, an online genealogical database from holland. Without more information though I can't really help you. We need birthdates, first names etc. of people who were born more than 100 years ago, got married more than 75 years, or died more than 50 years ago.

This is a pretty old thread, they may not be looking anymore for this information, but then again who knows? I got some Nieuwendijk's here and there, seems to be a pretty common name around Utrecht. The closest Nieuwendijk ancestor on my tree I guess is Gerrigje van Nieuwendijk (1851-1932) married to Petrus Baars of Willeskop. (brother of my great grandfather) If you are looking for information on Kuiper's (or anyone) who lived around Amersfoort, try this link:

I have a copy of the death certificate of my husband's grand-
father, Karel William Booy, who died in Kansas City, MO, USA
on October 31, 1953. His date of birth is June 6, 1863 and
he was born in Leeuwarden, Holland. His father was shown
as being Pfalling Booij and his mother as Catherina Van Lottum. Some of these names may have been mispelled. I was

There are two places in the Netherlands called Langerak; one in Gelderland and the other in Zyud-Holland.

am looking into my great Grandfather (maternal) Arnoldus Stekelenburg, born 20-11-1861, d. 27-8-1936. He married (17-6-1893)Petronella Cornelia Schrijvershof b. 18-5-66, d.9-7-1942.

Arnoldus is listed as being born in Willige Langerak. I am interested in finding out any information about this place. He may have been a landlord (?) (herbergier).

Hi I have no idea? But if you can clarify any of what you said I would be entirely grateful as this gentlman has been a big mystery to the beginnings of our Terpening Family they took on the surname of Terpening spelled way back then many several ways and the Brinks have tried to put our Gerret in with them cuz they have a missing son. But I've never quite felt comfortable with that at all. thanks for replying and you may contact me via email if you wish.

it's a very long time away you posted your question. I don't no of other people have reply before me and maybe you have already the information i want to give you. But if you haven't than i'am glad to help you. Johannes Hillebrand is an very old ancestor of my husband. And in the family tree i found this information for you: Johannes Hillebrand who was born on 26-12-1759 in Utrecht, died on 08-01-1809 also in Utrecht. His parents where Johannes Hildebrand and Catharina Luchtermans. This Johannes was born on the fifth of octobre 1703 in Maarssen (= a small village near Utrecht)en died on the eight of july of the year 1802 in Utrecht. His wife Catharina Luchtermans was born in Dorsten about 1730. Dorsten is a town in Westfalen Germany. She died on sixtheen octobre 1799 in Utrecht. Ik don't know who the parents are of Catharina, but the parents of Johannes are: Dirck Hillebrands Koster, born on the fourth of july 1677 in Maarssen and Dirckie van Bemmel, no further information.
The name of a town called Stichtsenberg doesn't ring a bell to me. And i live here in Amersfoort for 25 years (a bigger town 15 miles from Utrecht) and before that in Utrecht.
The only place i can think of is Soesterberg, that is a place between Utrecht and Amersfoort.
So i hope you have the information you needed.

I came across your message. There has not been any deathreport in the files about Carolina Prins around 1927 in Utrecht. Could you give some more information about this woman.
All information about people who died in the netherlands before 1940 can be traced down online. Perhaps Carolina Prins had other Christian names.
Under the given name Carolina Prins or Carolina van Barneveld there are no hits. Not even outside Utrecht (town or provence).

As already explained are graves in the Netherlands usually only for a period of 10 to 20 years. You can try to find info from the office of the municipal graveyards:

I do not know if they keep records for more then 80 years ago. I do not know about religion, but there is also A RC graveyard in Utrecht: http://www.begraafplaats-sintbarbara.nl/ This site list 1 burial in 1926, but not your relative.

You know the birthdate of your greatgrandfather Nicolaas van Oosterhout (14 March 1894) and the year of his death (1941). This might be sufficient information to order his "persoonskaart" at the CBG. The "persoonskaart" lists the names and dates of himself, his spouse, his parents and his childern. These cards were created in 1939 from the previous familycards. However this costs money. See www.cbg.nl with also an english interface.

A herbergier is a landlord. So you are correct. Willige Langerak was a gemeente from 1-1-1818 till 1-1-1943 in the provincie Utrecht. It became then a part of Lopik.
