Goedemiddag,

Wie kan mij aan meer informatie over Jacoba de Vos en haar voorouders helpen? Jacoba overleed in Rotterdam op 26 maart 1822 en was toen 63 jaar, 11 maanden en 24 dagen oud. Zij zal dus omstreeks 2 april 1758 geboren zijn. Zij was afkomstig uit Middelburg. Haar ouders (beide overleden in 1822) waren Jacobus de Vos (schipper) en Adriana Korendijk.

Ik weet dat veel Middelburgse archieven verloren zijn gegaan en heb niets over haar op de website van het Zeeuws Archief kunnen vinden.

Mogelijk is haar vader Francois Jacob de Vos die in 1732 in Zierikzee werd geboren als zoon van Jacobus de Vos en Helena Joanna de Rijke.

I’m not a Heijboer, but my children are via my wife related to the Heijboer family. The connection to the Heijboer family founded in 1882 when Simon Baak married Maria Janna Heijboer.
In 1995 there was a ‘book’ from the Heijboer family from the hand of Klaas Heijboer. Since 1998 I have put this information to my database and put the database on internet and I have got many supplements of the ‘new’ generation Heijboer's.

Into the database there are also Heijboer family’s who were emigrated to the U.S. and Canada.
I don’t know if I can help you with data, but I think you can probable help me with supplements from your side of the family. I always will to share information.

Your Veldran line and mine are the same. Veldran is a difficult name to follow as the spelling has changed a couple of times including Veldrand. I am the jan from 2002 and still working ad the ancestry.
The information about Francois go's back to 1500. My information about Isaak is that he is married to Jeanettte Albertine Vennik. As far as i know they had two chlderen: Alida Maria Petronella, born Malang and married with Eduart Herman Hugenholz. She lives in 1975 in Toronto. I have no information about childeren. And Francois Pieter also born Malangand married Ada Henrica Frouwina Oterdoom. The have, as far as i know, three cilderen: Francois Isac; Albert Cornelis Elsar and Herman Esso. I havent talked to you in a long time. How's the family, good I hope. I'm sitting around, working on the house etc., I've been laid off since last August.I did get some good news yesterday, my daughter and her husband came over and told us were finally going to be Grandparents.

I found a web site that puts our family history back to about 1633. The web site is PARENTEEL VAN STOFFEL BUIJSE.I also found a lot of info on geleijn Buijse family(1695).I tried to research this as much as I could, and I'm convinced this is the way the geneology goes.I'm also working with Randy Buyze, and Susie Buyze on the Family History.

I hope to hear from you about Stoffel, or anything new you might have found.

Teller/van agtmaal

My Oma, Bertha Johanna van Agtmaal was from the SasVan Gent, Netherlands and her father Adriann van Agtmaal, grandfather Adriann van Agtmaal and great grandfather had a sugar beet farm.

My Grandfather(Bon PaPa) Walter Lambert Teller was from Seilles, Belgium and his father Constant Charles Teller owned a foundry. Their home was a very large place and they called it "Tramaca Canteau".

I was wondering if any of these places are still there. During WWII they were taken over by Nazi's and the homes were used for their own personal uses, especially the Teller's home. How do I find info on these places and the family names.

My grandfather worked as a sailor with the Dutch Merchant Marine when he landed in Wallaceburg, ON CA aboard a tramp steamer. His friend, Pieter Riemans and my Grandfather were unseparable and after surviving atrocious conditions on the stormy North Atlantic, they decided that permanent shore leave was a good idea in 1919. I have traced his family, and by extension, my family to Axel/Zamslaag, NL where he was born 03/03/1898 in the Province of Zeeland. Unfortunately that is where it ends. He passed away with his secrets in 1969 in Chatham, ON. My dutch is so very rusty and any help to track down his ship/vessel would be very appreciated.

I do have a significant amount of information on (as well as two photos of) Jan De Jonge, who was born in Kruiningen, Province of Zeeland in 1815 and died in Zeeland MI in 1899. He was my third great-grandfather.

Is this the De Jonge you are inquiring about? He was first married to Pieternella Moerman and upon her death to Jannetje Den Herder.

Willem DeJonge and Margje Staal are also my great-great grandparents, through their daughter Grietje or "Maggie." Maggie's married name, by the way, was also Staal.

Cornelia Glerum was 30 at the time of her 2nd marriage to Antonie van der Est in 1814; that would make her born around 1784. That also agrees with the data from her death record. It stated that when she died on 22 August 1857 she was 73 years old.

I've got a Francois Van Prooije married to a Maria De Raat and their son Izaak married my Jenny Albertine Vennik in 1917 in Rotterdam. Can you help e out at all?

Hello enquirer. I can give you some information about Jan Leendert Moerdyk who is my great grandfather. He married Cornelia Dorst and they had five sons and two daughters. His eldest son, known as Gerard Moerdyk, was a well-known architect in South Africa. Jan Leendert and Cornelia lived on a farm just outside a small town (Nylstroom) in the Northern Province (then Transvaal) of South Africa.

Your surname list in a posting 21 Jan 1999 lists both Duyckinck and Veldran. Do you have any information on the Veldran line? My ancestors were William Veldran (1828-1903) and wife Margaretta Duyckinck (1828-1890). William's parents were James Richard Veldran (born 1804-06, died 1877)and Jane Collins (born 1810-1820, died bef. 1850). All in the New York and New Jersey areas. James Richard Veldran possibly had 2 brothers and a sister: Ramer S. Veldran, Thomas J. Veldran and Ann Velderan.

My gr grandfather, Nelson Losee, is also a descendent of Cornelius. I'm finding that there is much confusion about Nelson Losee (aka Lord Nelson Losee). As far as I know, he married Josephine Elva Mathews on 12/25/1879. They had 3 children: Benson, George (my grandfather) and Orie.
George married Bernice Hallead and also had 3 children. They lived in Fairgrove. Nelson is buried in Brookside cemetary in Fairgrove.

Nelson and Elva divorced and both remarried. He to Harriet Taylor. Elva married Charles Card.

The Long Island geneology site erroneously has Nelson as married to Jane.

I would love to communicate with anyone related. Perhaps together we can put this puzzle together!

The earliest relative to the US was Bastiaan Broere, 1848, arrive in Minnesota, did oystering, claming, married Gertude from New Jersey, and settled in West Sayville, Long Island, Newyork. All original settlers were from Ijerseke (Yerseke) in the Schelde river area in the Zeeland. Most records were destroyed in the flood of 1953, killed 75% of the village
