Surnames: Thyse, Thijse, Bos, Hutten, Christen
I am trying desperately trying to find my ancestors in Holland.
My grandfather was William Thyse born in 1914 in Union City New Jersey.
His father and mother emigrated from Holland. Wilhelmus Marinus Thyse emigrated in 1909 through Ellis Island. Cornelia Christen (his wife) emigrated in 1913. Wilhelmus sister also emigrated to the US in 1918.
When Wilhelmus came through Ellis Island his last name was changed to Thyse. It originally was Thijse.
I also have a marriage certificate for Wilhelmus and Cornelia's marriage on March 26, 1913 in the Hague ('S-Gravenhage).
On the certificate Wilhelmus parents are listed as Johannes Wilhelmus Thijse and Elizabeth Maria Bos.
I also have information on a Maria Jacoba Thyse who was the wife (or partner) of Carel Hutten. We think she maybe related, but are not sure how. I also have a picture of her with 2 other women, but have no idea who they are.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!
