I am looking for information on Thomas VanDermark born abt 1643 in Holland. He settled in Esopus (now Kingston) , NY. He died in 1724 at the age of 81 in Marbletown, NY. It is believed that he was a stowaway on the Half Moon as there are no records of him arriving in NY. His name first appears in public records of Ulster Co., NY in the Spring of 1667. His wife was Jacomyntje Jacobs. They were married abt 1674. She died April 2, 1693.

Their children were
Arie b abt 1675 m. Saartje Bont
Jacob b abt 1677, m. Jannetjen Sluyter
Jannetie bap. Marbletown Jan 12, 1679; m Nicolaas Keater (geter or Keetyn)
Bastian bap Sept 4, 1681
Douwe bap Aug 20 or 27, 1682
Aariantie bap July 28, 1684
Theophilus bap July 28, 1684
Eycke bap Feb 20, or 27, 1687 m Jacobus Bos, Bosch or Bush
Frederick bap Dec 16, 1688 m Geertjen Tack
Aughustinus b abt 1693 m Annetjen Schot

I am trying to trace our family in Holland. I can only go back as far as Thomas. It is believed he had brothers. According to P.R. Van der Mark of Amersfort, Holland, a Thomas Van der Mark is not mentioned abt 1660, but there was a Pieter Van der Mark who had three sons, namely: Jan Pieter born abt 1640; Jacob, born at Alphen abt 1675, and Arie, born near Leyden abt 1678. Thomas baptized his two sons Jacob and Arie. It is believed that Thomas may have been and elder brother of the above named Jacob and Arie.

I'm trying to find out more information about a Johanna de Koning who married Gerrit de Jong of Gouda, probably between 1805-1810. I have had no luck in finding her parents or her birth date. She had at least 2 children with Gerrit - Huibert (1811) and Steijntje (1813, my ggg-grandmother).

Johanna died in 1813, probably as a result of childbirth, and Gerrit remarried twice, first to Jannigje Domburg and then to Johanna Verhoef. Gerrit's parents were Huibert de Jong and Anna/Johanna van Leeuwen of Gouda.

I would be interested to hear from anyone with information or connections to this family.

Regards,
Anthea.

I am descended from Trijntje de Ruiter born 7-2-1868 in Zuid-Beijerland and died 8-16-1896 in Numansdorp, Holland. She was the daughter of Johannis de Ruiter 1830--1890 and Cornelia den Aantrekker 1837--1880, both of them born in Sommeis dijk and died in Zuid-Beijerland. She was my grandmother who was married to Jan Notenboom, had 4 children, one of whom was my father Arie Notenboom who came to the United States. She had one sister that I know of, Jannetje who married Jan Notenboom after her older sister Trijntje's death.

I am trying to find Trijntje's family in Holland. Anyone who has any information about this family, please contact me. I would also appreciate any help from someone about who to contact in Holland to find out some information.
STEFFENS from Holland mid 1800's

My gg-grandmother was Margaret STEFFENS b. MAR 1859 in Holland. I have just discovered that she was not born in Germany as I always thought. I was spelling her name STEFFEN, STEPHAN, STEFFAN or STEPHAN but never with an s on the end. (She married Frank BAUMER 1880 in Cincinnati).
1870 Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH census records indicate that she was born in Holland. Likely her sister was Mary b. JUL 1847 who married Frank MESSMAN and settled in Indiana. Her mother was Lena b. about 1815 in Holland. The family emigrated to the US about 1864-1866 per 1900 census information. I do not have passenger records at this time.
Looking for any information on STEFFENS from Holland.

Pleuntje de Kluijver

I am looking for de Kluijver. My grandmother is Pleuntje de Kluijver. Her husband is Gerrit van Valen. They had four children. One of the children, Nel van Valen, died at a busaccident in Germany with her future husband Piet in 't Veld. My mother is Ina van Valen. Pleuntje de Kluijver had 12 or 13 sisters and or brothers. One of her sister is Jannigje de Kluijver. She has a son Gert and he studied Bookkeeping. Pleuntje had another sister who married to a person named Terpstra, they had three children: Ans, Hans and one I do not know, they moved to Deventer or Zutphen. My mother Ina came sometime to play with Hans, Ans and the other one. The father of Pleuntje may be Hendrik de Kluijver, but this is not sure. Pleuntje lived in Dordrecht and I think (I am not sure) she was born in Sliedrecht.

I hope anyone can help find them or know something about them?

Best wishes,
Agnes Laurens

Hello All,
I am seeking any knowledge of my gg grandmoter, who was apparently born Christina Gertruda Fieburger (1807-86). She
fled her birthplace of Rotterdam probably when very young and married someone Hettier by whom she had a son, Henry. She claimed in later UK censuses that she was born in Rotterdam in 1807, but the date might possibly be earlier.
I would be glad to hear from anyone with any information about Fieburgers.
Paul Remfry, Malvern, UK.
van Leent family, Gouda and Rotterdam

Hi, I'm having some trouble researching this family, any info/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am able to trace back to my gg-grandfather Frederik Johannes van Leent - he married Johanna de Jong in Rotterdam in 1865. Both Johanna and Frederik were born in Gouda, Frederik in 1829, Johanna in about 1837. Frederik was the chief of the medical service for the Royal Dutch Navy. He died in 1895. Only his mother's name is listed on his marriage certificate, her name was Fredrica Carolina. I cannot find Frederik's birth record. He died in 1895, location unknown. I know he published a number of medical works during his lifetime, and he probably traveled to Indonesia as part of his work as a doctor.

I also know that he must have been closely related to Fredricus Hendricus van Leent, a children's author born in Gouda, as I have a photo of this man which has been passed down through the family. Although I have researched his genealogy, I cannot find the connection back to my ancestors.

Anyone who knows anything about the van Leents, please contact me, I would love to hear from you!

Anthea.

I am looking for a marriage date for my g-g-g grandparents, Harmen Verhoef and Maaike Kleijn. They were married around 1847 somewhere in Zuid Holland. Here is the information I have on them:

Harmen Verhoef
b. 10 Jul 1805 in Schoonrewoerd, Zuid Holland
(son of Wouter Verhoef and Ariaantje Veen)

Maaike Kleijn
b. 15 Nov 1823 in Leerdam, Zuid Holland
(I do not have any information on her family)

I know Harmen had a first wife Grietje Kleijn who died between 1842 and 1847. Maaike was his second wife and I believe she was probably a sister to Grietje, but I can't prove that therory yet.

Harmen and Maaike and their family emigrated to the United States in 1855 on the ship "Travlinta".

Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Tammy

Frans Wentink of Ouddorp

Can anyone help with the wife(s) and children of Frans Wentink of Ouddorp? Frans was born in 1815, but his wife or wives seems to have several names, or are there more than one contemporary couple with the husband named Frans Wentink? Yes, I saw him married to Suzannetje Last in GenLias. In New Jersey there are number of Wentinks with Frans as the father named in marriage records, but various names of the mother - Susan Last, Jannetje? Last, and Neeltje Verduin?. Here are the Wentinks with somewhat unknown parents: Adrianus b. 1846; Teunis b. ca. 1846; Poulus b. ca. 1838; Hendrik b. ca. 1841; Jan b. ca. 1852; Geert b. ca. 1854; and Katelientje b. ca. 1857. Confirmation on their birthdates and names of parents would be much appreciated.

Records Index, Hillegom after 1882

I recently learned that the marriage supplement records for 's-Gravenhage for the years 1898-1944 were destroyed by fire, so I am pursuing other ideas to locating more information on Johannes Koelewijn. One of those is to look for the marriage of Johannes and his wife Petronella Maria Louwkamp. Petronella was born in Hillegom in 1867. Their only known daughter, Lijntje, was born in Weesp in 1888 so I assume that their marriage occurred between 1884 and 1887. Unfortunately, the Mormon church has not filmed anything after 1882.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can locate records for this 1882-1888 time frame? Whom should I contact? What should I expect?

Thanks again for all your help

Marriage supplement records - 's-Gravenhage 1905

I posted this yesterday as a reply to an earlier post I made in March - but I'm not sure if posting in that manner sends the message out to everyone, so I am reposting as a new topic:

I am looking for some additional help in locating the marriage supplement records for the marriage between Cornelis Kalee and Lijntje Koelewijn on April 19, 1905. The marriage record indicates that they presented the death certificate for Lijntje's father, Johannes Koelewijn. I am hoping to find details about the presentation of this certificate in the marriage supplement records since I do not know where Johannes Koelewijn died.

Please let me know if you have any information on how I can obtain a copy of the marriage supplement for this marriage. Thanks so much!

My great-great-great grandfather was Cornelius Santefort, who married Pietertse Roodhuisen, with a son Pieter born April 20 1844. Pieter emigrated to America but I don't know if his parents emigrated. I have found records for the Santifort family in the Mormon church records dating from 1683 to 1878 but cannot make the connection to Cornelius.

I am looking for a Dick Santifort who lived in Amsterdam in the thirties and was a friend of my father, Herman Nijpels (also spelled Nypels), who worked at Kreymborg at the time. Together they invented a kind of nonsense rhyme, containing the names 'Radica en Donica'. My father can't remember the exact words, therefore I'd like to find Dick Santfort (or his children).

I'm trying to find relatives with surname "Aupperlee". My father's 90th birthday is coming up and I'd like to put together a family tree for him. His father was Bastian John Aupperlee born in New Jersey . His grandparents were Arend leendert Aupperle & Dirkje Driesse both from Middelharnis. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Jacki Aupperlee Mitchell
