My great-great-grandmother, Matilda Martins was the daughter of an Irish-American Martins and a Portuguese woman (name unknown). Matilda Martins married Ernesto Joaquim de Barbosa Torres. Their daugther Aurora Torres (my great-grandmother) was born in Abrentes, Portugal. She married Fortunato Martins. He is not Irish but Portuguese. I have no further info. on him.
I know they (Aurora and Fortunato) came to the USA and had at least one child here before moving to Cape Verde and having at least two children there. They had 5 children in all.
