Searching for ancestors of Benjamin da Fonseca and Sarah Gomez da Fonseca, possibly born in the Virgin Islands in the early 1800's (Sarah in 1818). The family were Sephardic Jews who fled Portugal and went either to Holland or England, thereafter to Curacao, Brazil, then to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, then to Tortola, Virgin Islands. I would like to communicate with anyone who has a family story or legend about relatives who fled Portugal for any of these places.
