Jaime Triay md 1761 to Catalina Marques, Psh of Santa Maria, Menorca

My Triay line goes from New Orleans back to Jaime Triay, bn 1736, married Catalina Marques Dec. 26, 1761 Parish of Santa Maria, Menorca.
Their son Onofre Triay, bn 1769, married Jan 5, 1794 to Maria Torres at Cathedral of Ciudadela, Menorca.
Would like to know any family histories on the Triay family such as occupation, etc. in this time period.

Bernardo Campos (parents Martin Campos and Juana Vila) was born 8 Apr 1798 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca, Spain. His godparents were Gaspar Prats and Juana Preto.

Bernardo first married Ana Piernes. She died.

The widower Bernardo then married Eulalia Campos on 27 Jun 1832 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca, Spain. Eulalia (parents Antonio Campos and Margarita Preto) was also born in Villa Carlos (Es Castell). Bernard and Eulalia were also 2nd cousins.

Bernardo Campos and Eulalia Campos had the following children:

1. Bernard Campos was born 3 Feb 1842 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. His Godparents were Francisco Campos, his maternal uncle, and Margarita Campos, his maternal aunt. He died 7 Jun 1892 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, USA.

2. Margarita Campos was born 26 Mar 1833 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. Her Godparents were Antonio Preto and Margarita Preto.

3. Martin Campos was born 28 Jan 1835 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. His Godparents were Antonio Campos and Juana Vila.

4. Antonio Campos was born 1 Jul 1837 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. His Godparents were Juan Orfila and Margarita Escudero.

5. Eulalia Campos was born 21 Jan 1840 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. Her Godparents were Antonio Campos and Juana Campos.

6. Praxedes Campos was born 9 Aug 1844 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. Her Godparents were Manuel Campos and Margarita Campos.

7. Agnes Campos was born 12 Jun 1847 in Villa Carlos (Es Castell), Menorca. Her Godparents were Francisco Preto and Agnes Campos.

I am seeking any information on the family of Crispin Corrales-Cruz from Palma de Mallorca. Crispin was my great grandfather, and he was orphaned at around the age of six in 1899 and moved to Matanzas Cuba with an aunt named either Juana or Maria. He had a brother and two sisters named Maria, Juana, and Jose and a nephew that went to Cuba with him who later fathered twin girls.

Domenech, Bibiloni, Cortes, Colom

Busco informacion sobre mis bisabuelos, Pablo Domenech Bibiloni casado con Monserrate Cortes. Ambos eran de Palma de Mallorca. Tuvieron varios hijos varones entre ellos mi abuelo, Jose Domenech Cortes. Esta familia era due~na de una compa~nia de exportacion. Pablo o Monserrate descendian de la familia Colom de Mallorca y nacieron a mediados del 1800s.
Es posible que uno de los hijos se llamase Antonio. Jose Domenech Cortes, mi abuelo immigro a Puerto Rico en el 1880.

Si alguien tiene genealogia de estos apellidos les agradeceria tuvieran la amabilidad de compartirla conmigo, por lo menos lo previo a 1800s. Estas familias descienden de familias muy antiguas cuyos ancestros ( varones ) entraron al servicio del Rey Don Jaume I de Aragon y pelearon durante la Reconquista de Mallorca.

Miguel BORRAS was born 1824 in Palma, according to his marriage application in Barceloneta. A Borras family Bible says his parents were Juan Borras and Catalina OLIVER, but his marriage application says Miguel's mother was Prudencia LLOBERA. I would like to find church records in Palma for Miguel. My ultimate goal is to find his father's family to determine if 3 different Borras men who came to Pensacola, FL USA are related. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Onospe Triay bn 1769 in Menorca and Maria Torres.
Jose came to New Orleans, Louisiana and married Josephine Orosco bn 1818 in Pensacola, Florida.
Can someone tell me something of the Triay family such as occupation, meaning of name etc., status of family.
Also where to write for marriage and birth records. I had some but lost all in Hurricane Katrina.
How common is the name Triay in these times on the islands?

My grandfather Lorenzo Cardona was born in 1879 in San Luis, Menorca,Baleares island,Spain.His father was Antonio Cardona and mother Antonia Pons.his grandfather was Jose Cardona Vinent and his grandmother Agueda Tuduri Vidal.Any additional information please contact me.I have all the sons and daughters of Lorenzo cardona and of Antonio Cardona.
My grandparents migrated to Argentina around 1906 or 1907.

Looking for ancestors of Juan Carreras. He migrated (along with his brother Esteban) to New Orleans, Louisiana, USA during the middle 1800s. His father was Pedro Carreras and his mother was Magdalena Bagur. Pedro's parents were Jose Carreras and Maria Rosa Juncla (Juncal?). Magdalena's parents were Pedro Bagur and Magdalena Carreras. They lived in Mahon. Would appreciate any info that may help.

I'm tracking my familly and have managed to get as far as 1792 .

I am looking for :

Tomas Noguera Born,1792 , died 23/11/1867. He married Josefa Chacon, born 1786, died 16/1/1843.

I think Tomas may have remarried a woman called Rosa Raye.

They came from Isla de Leon, now San Fernando in Cadiz.

Tomas father was Andres Noguera, married to Pabla Patron.

I believe they may have come over from the Balearics.

On, November 14, 1946 the SS Marine Tiger departed from San Juan, Puerto Rico with 674 passengers. It arrived in Brooklyn, New York on November 18, 1946 with 676, 2 stowaways were arrested and handed over to the FBI.

On this trip you will meet Mr. Sicanor Díaz a native of Santurce, Puerto Rico. He is 70 years old and was born on August 2, 1876.

The year 1876 was important for the former slaves (libertos) of Puerto Rico because it was 3 years after the abolition and it was also the expiration of the 3 year labor contracts that they were obligated to sign when slavery was abolished on March 22, 1873

The libertos were now issued identification papers (Cedulas de Vecindad) and were instructed in the use of a surname of their choice. Many selected the name of their former owner.

Joseph Foiles / Foil Port Mahon to Norfolk Co. VA

I am researching Joseph FOILES / FOILS born c. 1802 in Port Mahon Menorca who emigrated to Norfolk County, Virginia (1850) Family members always recollected that "she" presumably Joseph's spouse was French (with dark eyes and hair) and "he" was Spanish (with very blonde hair and blue/green eyes.)
This appears consistent with the history of the Balearic Islands which flip flopped under English, Spanish and French occupation during the 18th and 19th century.
It is also rumoured that they may have emigrated through New Orleans or Charleston.
Any information on this family or the history of the Island would be greatly appreciated.

Triay family: Minorca and Washington DC

Raphael R. Triay was born on Minorca circa 1815. He married Rita------------, and they had a child Francis born 1833. Shortly thereafter, they came to America, and he was the Director of the US Marine Band 1836-1843. Another child, Epifanius, was born on Minorca circa 1847, between Raphael's periods of enlistments. Raphael returned to America and was Marine Band Director again from 1848 to September 9, 1855 when he died.
It is possible that both Francis and Epifanius returned to Minorca. A daughter Rita remained in the Washington DC area.
I would like to identify the parents of Raphael and Rita and the village they came from. I would like to know what happened to Raphael's children.

Currently seeking information on the family of Francisco Dumetz who was probably born on the Island of Mallorca in 1734. He received his ecclesiatical training in Palma with the Franciscan Order. He left for the Americas around 1769 and arrived in California in 1771. There he reamined until his death at San Gabriel mission in 1811. FAYAS of Minorca

An article in the AMERICAN GENEALOGIST for Oct 1968 mentions the FAYAS family of "Menorca" [sic], Balearic Islands but only gives the descendants of one male per generation. Does anyone know of any source [or contact in Minorca] that might include the other descendants?

I am trying to establish (or eliminate) a connection between the Juan FAYAS [aka Jean FAILLASSE], born about 1755, who appears in the area of Arkansas Post, Louisiana Territory (USA) by the 1790's.
