Does anyone have any information about this family?
I am trying to locate my Collazo family. I'm desperately looking for some help in locating my grandfather Juan Collazo BarPortla (born 1870) and his family. The family was force to flee Spain in one of their revolutions about 1880. Juan, his five brothers and sister were orphaned as a result of the fighting. Juan's father was a Spanish Consular diplomat posted in Portugal. The children were all sent to Puerto Rico as a safe heaven. My grandfather Juan was born in 1870 and was about five years old when they left Spain. Supposedly, they live in Cadaques and Barcelona Spain and sailed from Barcelona to PR. I have no records of who his siblings were and where they lived in PR. Juan I think live in Ponce, but some of the family lived in Utuado(?).I would greatly appreciate any information available from any of the Collazo descendance scattered all over the world.

Mi familia proviene de Salinillas de Buradon y Zambrana hasta el año 1650 que es lo más lejos que he llegado hasta ahora.He encontrado que Agustin se casó en Santa Fe ,Argentina,en 1909, pero de allí no han podido confirmarme nada.Tambien en Argentina vivia Santiago.En Mejico, Agustina.No se si tus datos coinciden con los mios,eso espero pues llevo años buscando y hasta ahora no he tenido suerte.Un saludo

Acabo de encontrar tu mensaje.Yo estoy buscando lo contrario.Se que antepasados mios viajaron a Argentina y Mejico.Con los de Mejico tienen contacto otros parientes,de los de Argentina hemos perdido la pista.Ninguno somos de la Rioja ,pero el apellido procede de alli,de la Rioja Alavesa.
Espero que aunque haya pasado el tiempo pueda serte de ayuda
