Surnames: Earnest, Ernst
I found more info on my part of the family can anyone add to it?
I'm looking for info on the Swiss surname Earnest- I know we came from the German speaking part of Zurch (Dattlikon) and that we immigrated to the USA (Virginia and Tenn) in the late 1700's. The only names and dates that I have are:
Henry Earnest (he married Mary Stephens 1742-1838)
Born: 1730
Died: 1809
Their son: Lawrence Earnest (he married Rebecca North 1775-1806)
Born: 1763; Virginia
Died: 1838
Lawrence's daughter: Rebecca Earnest (she married Jacob Watson Payne 1804-1885)
Born: 1807; Tenn
Died: 1837
If anyone has anymore info it would greatly be appreciated!
