Bishop/Cardinal Lanzetta is from Italy .... I know the Lanzettas are from
Salerno ... more specifically, the village of Calvanico. Family legend
it that Michael (if that's his name --- I'm not even sure of that) is my
great-grandfather Giuseppe's brother ... which would put his birth
in the mid 1800s. Family legend also said that the last Pope Pius was a
student of his ... or vice versa ... the story is different each time but
there is a connection. The name Lanzetta has also been spelled Lanzzetta,
Lanzetti, or even Lanzzetti. Rumour also has it that this person's robes
hanging on display somewhere in the Vatican.

That is all the information I have, unfortunately. The people who would
more are either dead or quite elderly ... making it difficult to get
definitive facts. If anyone can shed any light on this relative of mine I
will be eternally grateful.

Thank you so much!!!!
