Mrs. Alma Gary Dies on Tuesday August 11, 1964
Mrs. Alma Gary, 77, died Tuesday at 12:20 Green Acres Nursing Home in Cisco, after two years of declining health.
Funeral sevices are scheduled for Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from Higginbotham chapel in Cross Plains with the Rev. Charley Myrick, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Admiral Cemetery beside the grave of her husband who died in 1931.
Mrs. Gary was born July 15, 1885 in Georgia. She came to Texas when about 19 years of age. She was married to W. A. Gary in Erath County. They settled north of Cottonwood and resided there until his death. She had lived in Cross Plains the past several years.
Survivors are five sons: Howard, Loyd, Weldon, Dale and Garland, all of Cross Plains, and Mrs Irene Marshall, San Pedro, CA., Mrs. Grace Smith of Chico, Ca., Mrs. Nadine McKinney of Coleman, Mrs. Ruth Lusk of Cross Plains; three sisters, 29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
