Hi,
Is anyone researching families with the names HOFMANN or ZUHLKEN who came from the Otterstedt/Ottersburg regions of what is now Lower Saxony in Germany. The area is about 15 miles from Bremen. I was kindly sent details from church records after 1823 but wonder is anyone has earlier records or can add to what I already know about my German ancestry

Johann HOFMANN still alive in 1865 when son #Johann married Hannah DAY in England (occupation - farmer)
Known child to Johann and Anna
Johann HOFMANN born 31st August 1850, baptized 8th September 1850
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe son #Johann (my great grandfather) came to England in the early 1860's. He worked in the sugar refineries of the St George-in-the-East area of the East End of London.
Any information much appreciated.
