Lawrence Cochrun Obituary
Lawrence Cochrun, 81, former rancher of Crook and Campbell counties, passed away Sunday, January 8, 1956, at Sheridan where he resided since 1947. He had been in ill health for a number of years.
Funeral services were held at the Community Church at New Haven, Wyoming. Wednesday January 11 with the Rev. C.W. Jervis pastor of the Baptist Church at Hulett, officiating. Burial was in the New Haven Cemetery.
Lawrence Cochrun was born in Ringgold County, Iowa July 16, 1874. He came west with a wagon train with his family when he was a small boy and settled at Beaver Creek, Wyoming. Here he recieved his schooling, and grew to manhood.
In 1910 he was united in marriage to Florence Hoback. To this union three children were born.
His wife passed away in 1918. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs Florence Study(should be Dora) of Gillette and Mrs. Effie Hannan of Seattle, Washington; one son Wesley Cochrun of Seattle; one sister Mrs. Edward Storm of Sheridan; two brothers, Mert Cochrun of Seely, Wyoming and John Cochrun of Sheridan; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
