I’m looking for more information on my great-great-grandfather, FRANCIS TIMONEY, b. 1863 Fermangh, Ireland, d. ? New York. I don’t know what year Francis came over from Ireland to Beacon, New York, but I believe it was early in his life. It’s also unclear what year he died, but he is still listed in the 1920 Census(not 1940 from what I can tell). His name is “Frank A Timoney” in census documents. Francis Timoney owned a brickworks on the Hudson River in the early 1900s. I believe this is the same Francis Timoney that married Margaret Grady (married 1890). They lived in Dutchess Manor in Beacon, Dutchess, NY. Francis and Margaret had many children, including my great-grandmother, Irene Timoney. Some of their children, Henry and John, are listed as having the last name “Firnoney,” so I’m wondering why that is.
Irene Timoney married Thomas Mulrenin (I suspect sometime around 1925), and together they had four children in this order: Lorraine, Thomas, Joan, and Mary. Joan and Mary were twins. Lorraine Mulrenin is my grandmother, and was born on December 19, 1926. Joan and Mary were born in 1932. The 1940 Census shows that during that year, my grandmother, Lorraine, was living with her Aunt Margaret Timoney and Uncle John Timoney in Beacon, Dutchess, NY. It also shows that Aunt Margaret was a clerk at a bakery store.
My grandmother, Lorraine Mulrenin, married Alfred E. Tobin. Together they had two children, Ellen and William, both born in the 1950s. I am William’s daughter, Aileen. I'm seeking more information on Irene and her parents, as well as any other general ancestry leads.
