I am trying to locate the birth of my GGgrandmother whom I believe to be Marie Clara or Clemence Leroux-Cardinal.There are not many records with
her full name stated and none where I have found her father or mother's name. She was born abt. 1822/1823 C.E. St. Leger was written on one record. Could this be the name of a place in France? They ended up in Burlington, Vermont and I assume she died there. They had 11 children, according to records, all born in Vermont. One son named George born abt 1856 married a Amanda Menard, Nelson (Narcisse) born abt 1846 married a Lucy Cadieux (Cayo), another son Joseph born Feb 1849 married Clara Myers, (my ggrandparents) sons Peter, Alfred and Frederick died at an early age. Daughter Marguerite born abt 1839 married George Lecours, Emily born abt 1841 married Ulric Henry Hebert -Abair, Sarah born abt 1842 married Alfred Lapointe. I have some information on these couples children, but so far have not been able to find any connection to the Canadian lines.
This is all the information I have.. ANY help at all would be very appreciated.

Yes, Lucian, Frederick and Joseph's parents were Frederick Jerome Abair and Anna M. Kehl. Frederick Jerome Abair's parents were Francis Xavier Abair and Louise Manville. Francis was the famous sea captain.

Would you happen to have any information about a Stephen Abare(Hebert) from the Malone,NY area. He was born July 1834 in Canada. He married my greatgreat grandmother, Marie(Mary) Tremblay,Moise around 1885. They had six children, Stephen,John, Leo, David, Melinda and it looks like Alvenis. I'm trying to find out where Marie and Stephen are buried. I heard they remained in the Malone area. I would appreciate any information about them if possible.

I'm looking for information on a Stephen Abare who was born July 1834 in Canada. He married my greatgreatgrandmother, Marie Tremblay Moise about 1885 in the Malone,NY area. According to the 1900 census for Malone, they had six children, Stephen, John, Leo, David, Melinda, the last is a son, the name looks like Alvenis. I'm trying to find out when and where Stephen and Marie (Mary) died. Marie was born in 1854 in Canada. Any information will be appeciated.

Russell Abair of the United States Navy and Marshall County Indiana died October 25, 1944 in the South Pacific during World War II and is honored at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. His name appears on the “Tablets of the Missing”.

I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information about servicemen from your county killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. My wife and I visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. We do not send them to regular mailing addresses due to the costs. Please help us find the families of the men that might still be living. Our project is only successful because of teamwork. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page on the website. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date.

If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times for us.

Tuffield Abair was my great grandfather. He was born in coopersville NY in 1846 as Theophile Hebert. Theophile Migrated to Cornwall VT and married Josephine Beauregard in Middlebury in 1873. They had my grandfather Edward Theophile Abair. The name Hebert is Acadian. I have my geneology done back to France in 1598.

my name is Rosalind Abair(Collins), and I have very little knowledge about my fathers family (Abair), the only thing I know is the orginal name is Herb`ert but pronounced Abair, and that there were 2 brothers that were french(I believe that they were twins)...I guess one of the brothers went to louisana and there he met a woman and so on.......later on down the line(today)
my fathers name is : Bruce Edward Abair and his father is William Abair and I believe that william's father or grandfather
was when the name change came in to play, (from Herb`ert to

They had a daughter Eliza who married Edward Gordon/Godin.
Edward was b: 1875 AuSable Forks, NY

My GG Grandfather's name was Frank Abair. He was married to Amelia Miller.

They had (at least) 5 children. Leon Edward, Emma, Jenette, Helen, and Elizabeth (Lizzy).
Leon Edward was my G Grandfather. He was born in West Port Henry, NY in 1895 and moved to MA. He changed
his name to Edward Leon Hebert in 1942.

I'm interested in sharing and getting more information on some of my ancesters. Joseph and Harriet Abare lived in Chazy, NY for some of their lives (1850-70). They had at least 10 children, and one Charles, was my great grandfather. Other children were Joseph, Adalade, Nicholas, Mary, Adeline, Elizabeth, Henry, Emery and Philip. Many of them lived in the Plattsburg area as well, and I know some of their children were probably there too. Some moved to Port Henry, Essex County later on, including Charles, who'd married Catherine Wemet (Ouimet) of the Plattsburg area. I have a lot of info from the census, but want history on where Joseph and Harriet came from, in Canada, etc. If you think you are related, email me and we'll see if we can pool our info.

By the way, my father and mother had gathered most of the information that you have, so I'm looking for the parents of Anthony. In all this searching, I've discovered that his name was really Antoine Hebert and he had a brother by the name of Francois who also lived in the same general area. Francois had daughter named Marguerite Rose in 1803 or 1804. Perhaps he had some boys who are your ancestors? I have heard from Richard Hebert of Canada, self-styled Hebert Family Genealogist, who claims to be able to give me a pedegree for Antoine for $39 American. The offer is tempting.

According to a book on French families, your grand mother's father was Anthony Hebert married to Julia Pain; children Mark Anthony, b. 1826; Julia, b. July 4, 1830 Detroit; Francis, b. Jan 13, 1832; Margaret, b. Jan 25, 1835; Mary, b. 1839, m Feb 6 1860 Immaculate Conception Anchorville Benjamin Latour b 1836 son of Mary Latour and Josette Dupas; Zoe b Mar 23, 1844 Detroit; and Theophile b 1846.

I believe we are distantly related, however, I don't know the connecttion. I will gladly send a copy of this page, which is extensive, provide me with a mailing address.

I am trying to trace my roots through the Abair/Hebert/Abaire/Abare line and am stuck at my Great-Grandmother. Her name was Mary Abair(possible spelling Hebert by marriage info) and she married Benjamin Latour Feb 1861(I have 1860 in other sources). She was born in 1839 and died in 1906. I have no other information to trace on. If you can help, I sure would be grateful.
