Re: ARTHUR W. ABBEY - MISSOURI, MASSACHUSETTS, IOWA, ARIZONA

Hello Cindy,

I am the daughter of Arthur Abbey, Jr. He was born September 3, 1919 in Boston, Mass. My dad recently passed away (Nov 1, 2009) in Tucson, Arizona. He was buried Nov 6, 2009 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. He served in the Navy for 30 years. His wife is Valerie (Williams) Abbey born August 8, 1947 and I also have a sister named Andrea Anne Abbey born December 12, 1978. His mother's name was Emma Piepenbrink. Emma's parents were Conrad Frederick Piepenbrink and Thersa Hagen. Last year I began working on our family tree, but have been able to only find a small amount of info about the Abe side of our family. Perhaps we'll be able to help one another. I know that Art, Sr.'s siblings were sent to an orphanage so this may explain why is challenging to get information about them.

Hope this helps you!
Angela Anne Abbey
Born August 1, 1974

Hello

I was wondering if any of your Henry's settled in Caledon Twp, Peel County in the 1820 - 1870s. I was recently at Boston Mills Cemetery in Caledon and there were several Henry's buried there. I wonder if they are related to Elizabeth Henry (b. 1785 place ? d. 1834 Caledon Twp) in my family tree.

Elizabeth Henry married Archibald McNaught or McNaughton in 1807 in Paisley, Scotland and came to Canada in 1820 (York) with their 6 children. They settled in Caledon Twp (Lot 3, Con 3) in 1822. Archibald died in 1834 and Elizabeth in 1854 and are buried in Melville Cemetery in Caledon.

I have not been able to find any Henry graves in Caledon until a recent visit to the Boston Mills Cemetery revealed several of them buried there. I wonder if they are her relations.

I would appreciate hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Laurie Lotz

Re: Abbey, Bruce relatives buffalo NY

My father was Raymond Abbey. Yes it is a small world. I am looking for information regarding our family tree. My grandmother Dorothy Abbey passed last year and she was the last known relative. Unfortunately I didn't ask her for that information. I have no idea who is living or passed on my fathers side. My mother and father divorced when I was three and we had only met for the first time when i was 15. I spoke with him briefly when he was married to treni and had "little" ray. Treni and my father divorced when raycido was very young. After that I didn't hear anything from him or about him until my grandmother called to say he passed. I was told my father had been the only living sibling and that all my other grandmother's children had died of some form of cancer. i never met any of them. My knowledge of the Abbey side of my family is extremely limited and I would really like to know any and all information you could "fill in" for me. Thank you.

All of the material I've found on his life there and of his participation in the Witch Trials seems to be scant and repetitive. I would appreciate any information that you'd like to share on Samuel and his wife. Thank you, Sue

Re: Sybil ABBEY born about 1832 of New York

From Abbe-Abbey Genealogy, Cleveland Abbe 1915:

"Sybil Abbey married John C. Walworth, born December 26, 1830, son of Elijah, jr., and Abigail (Smith) Walworth of Preston and Rodman N.Y."

This is taken from page 430. The chapter is entitled "Unconnected Lines." This means that a direct connection to the rest of the family cannot be proven. But with a name like that, a link is pretty likely.

And that is all I know about Sybil!

Lenny Abbey, 15th Generation
labbey@mindspring.com
