Hurray! I've been waiting for someone in your family to respond - I can't believe I didn't see your message, and just happened to check on the Abdo thread. I believe your grandfather was a shoe maker in Mankato for some period, and that is where many of his family lived. I did see that a Sam Abdo later lived in Chicago but couldn't be certain it was the same person. I'm pretty sure that your Abdo family was from Ferzol, Lebanon, near Zahle, bc that is what both Sam and a brother William put as a place of birth on their WWI registration cards.
