If you are related to an Abe from that area and/or have relatives buried in the Abe cemetary, I guarantee my Dad (Ronald Garland Abe, son of Harvey Eugene Abe) will want to talk to you.

He's traced the name back to Germany and been there a few times and got more info. He also knows about the Indian heritage you mentioned and the name Flood and Fletterman(sp?).
