I'm looking for SARAH MARIAH ABELL who married HORATIO NELSON PRATT in Troy, Geauga, OH on or about 31 March 1840. Nelson d. in 1898 and is buried in Saranac, Ionia, MI and I have found Mariah living with her dau. Ermina C. (poss. Cornelia) ELLIS in the 1900 census in Michigan. I believe Mariah was born about 1820 possibly in MA. Sarah Mariah died Sep 3, 1898 in Saranac MI. They moved from Ohio to Michigan in 1852, and celebrated their 50th anniversary in Saranac in April 1890.

I have some clues which lead me to believe that Sarah Mariah was the daughter of JOSEPH ABELL (b. abt 1785, in Goshen MA, d. 23 Nov. 1844 Troy, Geauga, OH son of JOSHUA ABELL Jr. and MOLLY LYON) and POLLY POOL (b. 18 June 1788 in Plainfield, Hampshire, MA, d. 25 Sep 1868 also in Troy; daugher of JEPHTHAH POOL and OLIVE WHITMARSH).

Joseph's sister, SARAH ABELL m. AMOS POOL. Polly and Amos were also siblings. When Sarah ABELL died, Amos m. AMY FORD PRATT. Horatio was Amy's son by Harvey PRATT. Sarah Mariah ABELL would have met Horatio due to the close relation of his step-father (Amos) to Sarah Mariah's mother. Too confusing unless I sketch it out!!
