My daughter in laws mother was born in Washington DC. She had moved as an adult to Iowa, then on to Paris Il. She never spoke of her family at all. My daughter in law and sibilings tried several yrs ago to trace their ancesters on moms side but had no luck. I do geneology for my family and promised her I would try and find her ancesters. Her mom was born Dec 4 1935, as Catherine Ann Abell. When she was 18 she had a petetion to change her name to Katherine Ann Malone. The reason stated for the desired name change is that since she was 9 mo old she had gone by that name, had been using it as her name and wanted to make it legel now. She lived with Donald Leon Tinsman and had 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls, but never married till Jul 19 1978. She died in Paris Il Oct 13 1979. The marriage is recored at Paris Health Dept as having her parents Newton A Malone and mom maiden name as Katherine A Moriarity. Catherine(Katherine) SS# was obtained when she was 18 in DC and is 578-48-1253.Both my daughter in laws parents have been dead for years, and grandparents etc would all be dead. They would just like to know the family history for geneology sake. They have speculated that her mom had been orphaned, or that her birth mothers family hated the dad. If anyone out there can help me find this persons origin my wonderful daughter in law and her brothers and sisters would be forever grateful.
