I am really stuck finding proof for my ggg grandfather John Abell. I am
certain he was born abt 1806-1807 to Enoch and Elizabeth Pierceall Abell in
Washington Co KY. Enoch's father was Joseph Abner Abell, b. 1759 MD to
Samuel lll and Eleanor O'Bryan. Enoch born 1784 MD, his family moved to the
Rolling Fork area in the early 1790's. Enoch's siblings were Robert, b. bef
1792 MD, Elizabeth b. 1792 MD and Joseph Abner Jr b. 1795 Washington Co KY.

Enoch and Elizabeth Pierceall were married 8 Oct 1804 in Washington Co. The
1810 Washington Co census shows them having 2 sons under age 5, but only
James b. 1809 is identified in any files I have seen. I cannot, so far,
locate baptismal records for Holy Name of Mary before August 1807, and John
must have been born prior to that date.

I also cannot locate a will for Joseph Abner Abell, d. abt 1825 Washington Co>Co, or Enoch Abell, d. 1865 Marion Co.

John Abell married Dorothy Bowles 1/21/1825 in Washington Co. Enoch Abell
was surety to the marriage bond, and Enoch and Joseph Abner Abell were
testees at the wedding, along with Monica Bowles.

Dorothy Bowles, I am equally certain, was the oldest daughter of Alley Raley
and Joseph Bowles, named for Alley's mother Dorothy Hutchins. The 1810
census shows 2 daughters under 5 for Alley and Joseph, but only Monica, b.
1808, is identified in any family sheets I have seen. John Abell was surety
for the marriage of Monica Bowles, and Monica was godparent to James
Alexander, one of John and Dorothy's children.

Dorothy Bowles died abt 1845-1848, and John remarried Mary Ann Tungate. None
of the children from John's first marriage were living with him and Mary Ann
in 1850.

Winfred King, a John Abell/Mary Ann Tungate descendant, told me John Abell
and Mary Ann are buried at HNOM, and Enoch and Elizabeth are buried there as
well.

Any one have any connection to or information about these people?
