Hello,
I have Phillipina (on sons death certificate) or Pina (on departure record) Aberle who married Frederick Lipp and migrated to the US in 1866. On their Hamburg departure record, the home village is list Wildbad. I have yet to make a connection to Aberles or Lipps in Germany. Perhaps you have a connection.

Yes, I do have some more information about the Aberle family. My GGGreat grandmother was Anna Aberle. She was born in Brittheim, Germany on 14 Apr 1813 to Johann Georg Aberle and Anna Hengsteler. She married a John Brown and they lived in Madison Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.

Anna Aberle had 3 sisters and a brother named Johann Georg Aberle who was born on 11 Sep 1809. I believe that her brother Johann George Aberle is the same person as Geo. J. Aberle listed as the father on Lewis Aberle’s Ohio death certificate.

As of yet, I have not looked in the German records for the marriage record on Johann Georg Aberle to Mary Stull. No one has shown interest in Johann Georg and I have not researched him any further. However, if we find the marriage record it would prove we have the right people.

So far, I'm not seeing a connection, but that doesn't mean anything. I have yet to learn about Wilhelm or William's siblings, and if any came to the USA with him. I will have a look in Caroline's wedding album, as she listed all the names of those in attendance at her wedding. Many relatives from NY attended. Will let you know.

I read your posts on Ancestry message board. My 2nd. Gr. Grandmother was Marie Aberle, b. abt. 1832, Germany, poss. Baden. Marie Aberle m. bef. 1858 to Joseph Wehrle, b. 15 May 1830, Germany, poss. Baden. Marie Aberle Wehrle d. 06 Nov. 1865, New York, NY.
Joseph & Marie (Aberle) Wehrle are enumerated on the 1860 U.S. Census, 1st. District, New York, NY.
After the death of Marie, Joseph Wehrle m. 08 May 1866, New York, NY to Elizabeth Butz.
Is Marie Aberle connected to your Aberle's?

I married a merle aberle jr. there are six of us in my family and he has two sister also in California. His father lives in Texas. But his "Family" ( grandma, uncles aunts ect..) live in IL.

Gustav married Willhelmine Treiber: 4 children, Gustav, Willamina, Watilda and William.
Pauline married Heinrich Libadin.

. went to the consrvatory of his city at age 11 and in 1866 egressed as Maestro, director, and concertist .
. 1896 It also seems that their might be records of him in costa rica he was a teacher ter in Colegio San Agustin (parese que el fue asentado en este pais durante este tiempo)
. He founded in Guatemala el Conservatorio de Musica en 1879
. There is a piece of his music "Let us Dance Polka" in American Music sheet 1870-1885 published in New York: Harding 1871.
. There is also a poem by Ruben Dario titled "Giovanni Aberle" but I have not been able to find a copy of it.

judith: thanks for that info.makes sense.i was told rather austria,then moving down to verona,italy,where he pursued his musical education.there is an italian foreign service worker in south america that promises birth certificate or other info.it's funny that you mention jan aberle being a watercolorist,both my father and brother are.
how do i go about the swiss connection?

I can't help with information about Giovanni Aberle but I will suggest in general that you check Switzerland as his homeland, particularly with its proximity to Italy. My father's family originated in Germany quite near the Swiss border, which has moved many times over the years, so at times I imagine his ancestors were Swiss. The Aberle name is not now unknown in Switzerland. One of the earliest artists to use watercolor paints as his primary medium was Jan Aberle, also Swiss. I am an Aberle in Connecticut.

Rita, Louis Alverini and Emma Baumstarck were my great grandfather and g greatmother. My granddad (Alvin Lee) was their first born.From what I have, they also had children named Louis Charles, Henry Raymond, Viola Isobel, Anna Gertrude, Hugh Ambrose, Alma, Willie, and Amelia Margaret.

Ralph, I found Ambrose BAUMSTARK, 44, a grocery keeper, in Eddyville, Wapello Co., Iowa in 1880. He was born in Baden, and his parents were born in Baden, Germany.
His wife, Ansteena, age 31, (obviously not his first wife) from Wurttemburg, Germany. (CENSUS)
I also found in the 3rd Ward of Iberville (parish?), Louisiana an L. H. MARIONNEAUX, 28, store clerk, born in LA, married to Emma MARIONNEAUX, 22, born in LA. (parents born in Baden) They had a son, Alban, MARIONNEAUX, 2, born in LA. Living with them was Bertha BAUMSTARK, born in LA, age 14, sister, in school. Parents were born in Baden.
It might be helpful to follow the census of 1870 in Louisiana, 1900 in LA and in Iowa.
I will check ships list I have to see if there is an Ambrose.

If you are origionally from the SD area, then I may have information for you. My branch of the Aberle family tree is German, but my ancestors lived in the Crimea for the 50 years before 1890 when my Grandfather came to the US with his family. Its an interesting story. I have books, lading copies of thier voyage here, pictures, and access to a family historian. Let me know if you are interested. (Be patient, I travel for a living, it takes me a while to respond)

Most Aberles are german that I know of there were some that went to russia from germany to settle farms there but they returned to germany or to the U.S. when the russians started taxing them at a high rate after inviting them to settle and farm there. There are still Aberles in germany. When my brother in law was in the service in the sixties he looked up some of the family there and met them. I might be able to get ahold of him next few weeks and find out what area of Germany they are in or were at that time. my email is cindyaberle@aol.com

His parents came over from Germany and had a family in Ellington Connecticut. This Henry is now @83 years old. My wife's grandparents were Margaret Ann Aberle and Otto Carl Kautz, Sr. They lived in Madison, Wisconsin at the time of my wife's mother's birth in 1898. We have no other information at the moment. But, Aberle is not a common name, and I can't help but think there may be a connection to the family of Matthias & Margaret (Dann) Aberle. We have some photos of my wife's grandparents which we would be happy to share.
