I believe this Clayton Abernethy was b. IA about 1855 +/- 3 yrs. Father may have been b. Canada. I believe Clayton married Minta, then 20, who was b. about 1874 in PA of parents b. PA. I've identified 2 sons from post 1900 census records: Elmer P. born Jun 1899 & Clayton H. born Sep 1900 or 1901. Both are now deceased. Shortly after the 1920 Oklahoma census, Minta appears on the California Voters Registrations in Los Angeles County. Both sons evidently married after WW II, in Los Angeles County, CA. I think both were in the military; certainly the elder son was, as he is buried in the Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. As the younger son's widow apparently died in Wichita County, TX and her last benefit was sent to Burbank, Los Angeles County, CA, I am looking to contact any descendants of Clayton and Minta.
