I have been researching the Ables. My great grandmother is Ada Dell Ables and great grandfather is Joe Sephus Ables. No one remembers anything about Ada Dell except that she moved to Mississippi from Alabama and had to take care of her brothers and sisters. No one remembers why. Also, I think Ada Dell had a sister named Betty. My mother and aunts say that Ada Dell looked like she had a good bit of American Indian in her. Maybe Cherokee.....
Both Joe Sephus and Ada Dell are buried at Harlands Creek Cemetery...I cannot find anything on her anywhere. I don't know who her parents were, where she came from. I noticed that there are a lot of Ables on this message board that have the middle name "Dell". "Dell" is also my middle name. Could there be a connection. Please help if you have any information.
