Actually, it was Icy Ann SIMMONS Ables who applied. She attempted to register through her father & grandmother's line. She claimed it was her grandmother who married a Simmons who was Chocktaw. This would not have been in the Ables direct line. If there were Native Americans on the Ables lines, perhaps it would show up in a DNA test; however, this would have to be done on a direct male decendant of the Ables lineage (unless it was on the female line).
